An Afternoon in Walsenburg

Activity #1 – Walsenburg Mining Museum

Learn about Walsenburg’s rich mining history at the Walsenburg Mining Museum. Explore artifacts from days gone by and dioramas depicting mining life. Don’t forget to ask about the Ludlow Massacre and the Colorado Coalfield War!

Activity #2 – Museum of Friends

Walk across the street to the Museum of Friends, America’s only counter-culture art museum. This museum features rotating modern art exhibitions on the first floor and a wholly donated permanent collection on the second floor.
