Lathrop State Park

Lathrop State Park is nestled among the pinions and junipers in the foothills west of Walsenburg. Beautiful electric campsites with showers and restrooms are available, as well as primitive sites. Martin Lake swim beach, a paved walking path, the Hogback Trail, a playground and amphitheatre are just some of the many things to enjoy at this beautiful park.

Martin and Horseshoe Lakes offer two different aquatic environments supporting a variety of fish species. Horseshoe Lake is crystal clear and wakeless, with tiger muskies, catfish, largemouth bass, and rainbow trout. Martin Lake provides great fishing opportunities. Huge northern pike, trout, walleye, wipers, crappie, bluegill, catfish and largemouth bass could make your fishing trip a success.

During the summer months Martin Lake is enjoyed by boaters, skiers and personal watercraft.
