elebrate Christmas in Spanish Peaks Country. Enjoy the small-town charm of Walsenburg, La Veta, Gardner and Cuchara with their big-time holiday spirit. Shop at the mom-and-pop stores with one-of-a kind-gifts and stay in one of their cozy inns decked out for the season. You’ll enjoy the personal, homey touches that you can’t find in the city.
Take a ride from the La Veta station on a one-of-kind holiday train celebrating the spirit of the classic story “A Christmas Carol”. Step back to Victorian times as a few Dickens scenes will be performed and carolers will sing. Santa will pay a visit to all good girls and boys and present a small gift while cookies and cocoa are served.
Tickets are $22 for adults and $14 for children 12 and under.
Must call for reservations 1-877-726-RAIL. Tickets are non-refundable. Diesel engines will pull the train.
